Vine cultivation spread substantially in the 1980s and 1990s and traditional plots of vines were mechanised to make working the land easier.
Major vineyards currently occupy 40 ha, with 33 ha being located on terraces and 7 ha on high ground, at altitudes ranging from 200 m to 400 m above sea level. Vines are exposed to the sun from all sides (north, south, east and west), with the south and west predominating.
